Fly

I started writing this song on a drive after getting my car out of the shop. I had just gotten a new transmission and all sort of other work done to it and it was driving like new.

I was listening to the beat and noticing how smooth it was riding which is how I wrote the opening line "slip through the gears like a slip and slide"

I worked on it more after the video shoot for “Not a Fan”, and wrote the first verse driving home from the shoot.
The second verse I wrote on a drive home from brunch in Dallas

It was only right the I wound up writing most of this song about cruising on one drive or another.

After a song like Not a Fan, I wanted to put out something that was more braggadocious

I also took some inspiration from a lowrider video I saw that featured a local artist's song , and thought it would be cool to make my own.

That song was called “13 Inches” by Immortal Soldierz ft. Yung Doobie. You can check out the video here - I was able to make it to that video shoot and it was epic! Immortal Soldierz are local legends here in Fort Worth.

We were able to get a lowrider for this video. I was actually already in touch with the owner of the car for the “Texican” video but he broke down the night before the shoot.

The concept for this video was originally intended for Texican along with the mural shots, but we pivoted last minute and shot just the murals

I was glad I finally got a chance to work with him. I wasn't expecting him to let me drive the car, he brought it up at the last minute and I couldn't say no!

I feel like I'm starting to get more comfortable creating an image for Sin, but my confidence on camera is still something I'm working on

The beat for this song is by Gettcy
Artwork is by Ekki

I went out to Music in Focus studio to have it recorded, mixed and mastered.

Dennis shot the video.
The featured car is Anthony Figeuroa's 63' Impala

Hope you enjoy the track!

Talk soon,

Lyrics

Verse 1

Slip through the gears
like a slip and slide

So damn smooth
you’d think this bitch could fly

Weavin’ through traffic
like we intertwined

Finest thing breathin’
sittin’ by my side

I like em’ thick, pretty
sweet, with a mouthpiece

A little book smart
a little rowdy

Bass bumpin’
shakin’ all around me

You knew I was a dog
so don’t hound me

They see me on the stage
have a crush

See me in their face
catch a rush

Scream my rapper name
harmonizin’ when they cum

Call their girlfriends up
guess who I just fucked?

Pre-chorus

In the 8-1-G
bump my screw CD

Old school

Double As
in my MP3

Can’t stop bein’ petty
I ain’t out of spite

Up and down 35
like a cattle drive

Hook

Takeoff to the money
no GPS

My flight attendant fly
shootin’ BTS

Y’all should work more
maybe keke less

I’m too paid
for you to see me stress

I’m too paid
for you to see me stress

Verse 2

Mackin’ your girl in Spanish
over some Sade

Headed to brunch in Dallas
over at Soiree

Dolce and Gabbana
soak the Polo on my body

I got a lot to say
and none of it include I’m sorry

I’m startin’ from the top
so bitch know please don’t get me started

Million dollar smile
it cost a presidential pardon

Call the fire marshal
its too crowded in my pockets

Floatin’ through the city
like the topic of some gossip

Pre-chorus

In the 8-1-G
bump my screw CD

Old school

Double As
in my MP3

Can’t stop bein’ petty
I ain’t out of spite

Up and down 35
like a cattle drive

Hook

Takeoff to the money
no GPS

My flight attendant fly
shootin’ BTS

Y’all should work more
maybe keke less

I’m too paid
for you to see me stress

I’m too paid
