Have you ever wanted your partner to just admit how they feel about you?
Predictably, this song was inspired by a situation where I found myself frustrated with a partner who was being prideful or not communicating that they missed me.
They felt that it should be obvious to me, that I should know.
I found myself trying to explain that I wanted to hear it. I realized that I appreciated someone who was vocal in expressing their feelings for me.
In the midst of this “argument”, I realized this discussion would make an amazing song concept. I went back to a beat I was emailed and got started on the song during my next writing session.
I wanted to write a song and create a video that was expressing not only the common desire to have affirmation but also show a couple reconciling and making amends after a petty fight.
I loved the opportunity to venture outside the usual subject matter of my other r&b songs.
Drumdog made the beat for this track.
I went out to Music in Focus studio to have it recorded, mixed and mastered.
