Prettyass crook
Some people say you'll know you've found your person when you see them. Others say there is no “the one”, and you need to find someone and work to make that relationship special.
Some people swear by immediate chemistry, others see it as a red flag.
I'm the last person to ask for the correct answer on any of this. I don't have the lived experience of being in enough serious relationships to have an opinion on the matter.
But, I did think to myself: how would it feel to run into someone you felt was special? How would they look, talk, carry themselves? How would you approach them?
I think to even start to get an idea of what you're looking for, it can be worthwhile to imagine what “perfect” would look and feel like, even if it isn't real.
This is probable one of my most clean and wholesome songs. I wanted to create a song that embodied that moment of initial infatuation and curiosity.
I ask a lot of questions in the song because all you can know is you're interested initially. I don't think you can know someone has the potential to be “the one” based on just seeing them.
I got some positive feedback when I first shared a draft of this song on my IG story. Later, while discussing 2026 songs during a session with Chico, he recommended I drop something romantic for February.
I didn't have anything finished, but I had a draft of this song.
I write a lot in my car. I drove up to a park one weekend to take a crack at working on this song and saw what appeared to be a wedding party show up to take pictures. They all walked past my car as I was writing, so I took it as a sign to finish the song.
I later realized this exact concept has been done before. Chris Brown's “Yo” is a perfect example. Crazy how some things never change !
Drumdog made the beat for this track.
I went out to Music in Focus studio to have it recorded, mixed and mastered.
Jake Rodriguez vocal coached and produced me for this song.
Dennis shot the video.
Hope you enjoy the track!
Talk soon,

Lyrics
Verse 1
Excuse me miss
I just have to know
Are you feeling
as good as you look?
Stole my heart
from across the room
I’d call you
a prettyass crook
Or your real name
Or the one you goin’ be tonight
Couple sweet ones I could try
If you’d like I could call you mine
I go by Sin
That’s my stage name
When I hit stages
Outta all these places
all these faces
I wanna be
on a first name basis
Life’s too short
Why would I waste it?
Did you go to school
What was your major?
Are you shy?
Are you ostentatious?
What’s your sign?
What’s your limitations?
I’m a Sag
and I’m always chasin’
Gotta work more on my patience
I’ll admit
I want someone to spend my days with
Problem is
how long you’ve been takin’
Hook
You got my attention
And babe you won’t give it back
Lost in your eyes and I
just don’t know how to act
Forget all these people
I wanna know who you are
Cause there’s somethin’ about you
that makes me feel like a star
Verse 2
This love thing
ain’t gotta atlas baby
No pin on the map
No address baby
Not everybody
gets to have this baby
And we don’t get
a whole lotta practice baby
Listen can we talk through
every issue?
What you love about me?
What offends you?
What work’s been like?
What your kin do?
Will you tell me
when you’re in moods?
I need someone
who uses their words
I need that word to be bond
I like someone who talk to me sweet
and likes when I write em’ some songs
I wanna be
whatever you need
Wanna be the one
that you want
If you’ll have me
Havin’ you
would be havin’ it all
Hook
You got my attention
And babe you won’t give it back
Lost in your eyes and I
just don’t know how to act
Forget all these people
I wanna know who you are
Cause there’s somethin’ about you
that makes me feel like a star
